Beauty Haul

Recently all I seem to want to do is buy makeup. I am really struggling to restrain myself from shopping because I need to save up for my holiday in the summer. However I was able to sneak in these few purchases and I thought I would share some pictures of what I've bought recently.

Have you been shopping recently? Would you like to see a review on any of these products?

Where have I been?

It's been almost two weeks since my last post and you're probably wondering why I haven't made another post. There is a couple reasons for this and the main one being school!

It's getting close to exam season and that means lots of revision. With revision comes stress and we all know how hard it can be to deal with stress. For me when I start stressing I can't focus on anything else other than the things that are stressing me out. Which in turn stresses me out even more.
Now that I've been back at school for two weeks I'm beginning to settle into my revision and school routine. This means I will hopefully be able to start being much more consistent again with my posts. I will try my best to have new posts on a regular basis every week.

School + Revision + Exams = my kind of nightmare. It can be so hard figuring out how to juggle your time. As exams get closer our stress levels rise to extortionate levels. I am going to try and share some of my personal tips and tricks that I have learnt to help deal with the stress of revision and exams.
  • Get Rid Of Any Distractions! We've all experienced it, finally starting to get on a roll with our revision when our phone or computer goes off. 5 minutes turns into 15 minutes which turns into forgetting completely about our work. Try to leave your phone and computer in a different room to avoid this. Also try not to have a tv playing in the background because any tv show can make it incredibly hard to maintain concentration.
  • Take Breaks! Breaks are essential when revising.  Shorter intervals are much more effective because our brain can stay focused for the entire time. I tend to work for about 40 minutes and then have a 10 minute break. During my break I usually go and have a glass of water because staying hydrated is immensely important.
  • Stay Organised! Being organised and prepared is key. Make a revision timetable and be sure to leave enough time to study for each exam. You don't want to leave revision for an exam too late because this will instantly double your stress levels.
  • Make Time To Relax! You need time to yourself whatever that may be for you. Going for a walk, having a bath, going to a concert. You need a chance to have some time to yourself and to let yourself breath a little.

How do you deal with revision and exam stress?

Ireland Haul

As you may have read from a couple posts ago I went on holiday to Ireland for a week. I couldn't have asked for a better week. All I did was shop and relax and it was just perfect. I definitely didn't want to come because I enjoyed myself so much. I thought I would share some photos of the things I picked up while I was away.

If you would like to know where any particular items are from just leave a comment below and I will be sure to reply.

Review: Stila Perfecting Foundation Stick

I am constantly looking to find the perfect foundation and this means trying out everything I can find. I came across this foundation and few weeks ago although I was hesitant to try it as stick foundations tend to be quite drying. I was pleasantly surprised by this particular one. When swatched it is creamy to touch and is extremely easy to blend.

I picked mine up in Shade A. The shade is much more yellow toned than my skin but with a good amount of blending it is not even noticeable.  I would say this foundation has a medium coverage and does not look thick or cakey on the skin in any way.  The main downside to this foundation is that it can look slightly shiny on the skin which can be expected as it is a cream product. However, this problem can be easily rectified by applying a light dusting of powder over the top to help set the foundation in place.

Have you tried this foundation? What foundation do you currently use?

Gold Liner

As I have blue eyes I'm always trying to find colours and shades that will help make my eyes pop.  My favourite colour to do this recently is gold.  This led to this particular look. It really helps make my eyes stand out and every time I wear it I get so many compliments on my eyes.

It is so simple to create and yet looks very sleek and like you've spent a good amount of time on it.

I began by applying the lightest shade from my Revlon Colourstay eyeshadow quad in Coffee Bean and blended this all over the eyelid. This was to cancel out any discolouration and help hide any veins that could be seen. Next I lined my eyes the Avon Arabian Glow eyeliner in Gold and flicked out the liner at the ends. This liner is very creamy and so to help it stay in place all day I applied Half Baked eyeshadow from the Urban Decay Naked palette over the top. By applying the eyeshadow it also helped to intensify the gold colour as well as setting the eyeliner. I finished the look by applying liner to my waterline and applied two coats of mascara.

I love this look and I think it will be perfect for the spring and summer when I won't want to spend as much time on my makeup. Also during the spring and summer I do not feel like wearing the dark and heavy makeup I tend to wear in the winter as the weather is getting warmer. I can't wait to wear this look more.

What do you think of this look? Would you wear it?
